Initial 6-month, fixed term position with the potential to continue ongoing.
Hours are:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday: 2.30pm to 6.30pm
Wednesday: 12.00pm to 6.00pm
Approximately 22 hours per week
There is some flexibility around the hours and the family are open to discussing what could work with interested candidates.
A family with two children, Mr L (8 years) and Miss A (4 years), are looking for a calm, caring and dependable nanny to support their children through the afternoons and evenings. The family are currently navigating a period of change and their biggest priority is finding someone who can provide the children with consistency, stability and a reassuring presence as they settle into a new family routine.
Mr L is an incredibly creative boy who loves drawing, storytelling, reading and gaming. He has ADHD and autism and can be tired after a busy school day, so benefits from a calm environment and support transitioning between activities, regulating screen time and having the space to unwind. Previous experience with neurodivergent children would be beneficial, but is not essential. More importantly, the family are looking for someone patient, understanding and able to provide calm and consistent care.
Miss A is a social and outgoing little girl who loves drawing, riding her bike, playing with friends and trips to the playground. The siblings are close and enjoy spending time together.
The role will centre around helping both children through the after-school, dinner and early evening routine. This will include school and daycare pick ups, as well as driving the children to appointments when required, so a full driver’s licence is essential. The family are happy to either contribute towards petrol when the nanny uses their own vehicle or provide a family car for work-related driving.
Other duties may include preparing simple meals and snacks, spending quality time with the children and supporting relaxed transitions through the end of their day. Light household help such as folding laundry or a quick kitchen tidy would be appreciated when time allows, however the children are very much the priority.
Both parents work full-time with some flexibility to work from home. The family are looking for someone mature, kind and emotionally steady who genuinely enjoys connecting with children. Someone who understands the value of patience, predictable routines and meeting children where they are will be particularly well suited to this role.

- Hourly rate approximately $28 to $35 per hour, depending on experience
