Ideal start date September 2026 (late August negotiable)
Hours are 9.00am to 3.00pm Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.
Active, outdoorsy family are seeking a warm, engaged nanny to care for their happy baby boy. This is a lovely opportunity to work with a relaxed and welcoming family who value time outdoors, exploration and plenty of play.
Mum and Dad both work at the same office and share a mix of working from home and office days. The family also have a friendly miniature schnauzer named Freddie.
The child is Mr. B (approximately 14 months at start date). He is described as a big, active and very social little boy who loves exploring his surroundings. Mr. B began crawling early and is already working hard on walking, so a nanny who enjoys being active and getting out and about will be well suited to this role. He loves books, snacks, playing with the dog and exploring the outdoors. He is affectionate, giggly and known for giving kisses to his favourite people and toys.
The family would love their nanny to take Mr. B to local activities and outings during the week. Playcentre is located just a short walk from the home and the family would like him to attend when possible. There is also a music group at the local hall every second Thursday which they would love him to continue attending. With a park nearby and nature all around, outdoor play and exploration are an important part of the family’s approach to childcare.
Duties will include full care of Mr. B including nappy changes, feeding, planning play activities, outings and walks. During nap times there may occasionally be the opportunity to run a small errand such as collecting groceries from the nearby supermarket if required. The family dog is very much part of daily life and while walking him is not required, a nanny who is comfortable around dogs will fit in well.
Both parents will sometimes be working from home in a separate office space and may often be in meetings during the day, however the role will be sole charge of Mr. B during working hours.
The ideal candidate will be energetic, nurturing and confident caring for active toddlers. Someone who enjoys hands-on play, outdoor adventures, reading stories and providing cuddles when needed will thrive in this home. The family are also open to their nanny using basic Te Reo or another language in everyday conversation.
This is a wonderful opportunity to join a warm, relaxed family in a beautiful part of Pokeno where many activities and outings are within easy walking distance.
