Start date ideally Monday 20 April (could be flexible for the right candidate)
Hours are Monday to Friday, 12.30pm or 1.00pm through to 5.00pm or 5.30pm.
There will be some flexibility required for occasional later finishes (up to around 7.30pm, discussed in advance) and the opportunity for additional hours during school holidays.
A warm, busy and well-established family are looking for an experienced, organised and proactive nanny to support their two school-aged children in the afternoons. This is a long-term role with a family who have had wonderful nanny relationships over the years and are looking forward to welcoming someone new into their home.
The children are Mr. G (7) and Miss M (5). Both are described as kind, intelligent and full of personality. Mr. G is inquisitive and learning to focus on homework and routines, while Miss M is bright, affectionate and looks up to her big brother. They enjoy a relatively relaxed routine with minimal after school activities, giving plenty of opportunity for connection, routine and calm end-of-day care. The family also have an older, quiet dog.
The role will involve school pick up, supporting the children through their afternoon routine, supervising homework, preparing and serving dinner (using My Food Bag), and assisting with evening wind-down tasks such as bath time and getting into PJs. Light household support is also part of the role, including dishes, laundry, changing bed sheets and general tidying to keep the household running smoothly. Occasional outings such as trips to the library are encouraged.
Both parents work full time, with Dad often based in Australia and Mum working locally. The role is primarily sole charge, with parents having occasional work from home days.
The ideal candidate will be warm, practical and confident managing school-aged children. Someone organised, with good initiative and a calm but firm approach will do well in this home. A nanny who can create structure while keeping things relaxed and positive will be a great fit.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with older children and becoming a valued part of a family’s daily rhythm.
