Little Robins Programme
At the heart of Red Robin Nanny Agency is our Little Robins Programme, Ministry of education home-based early learning service for children 5 years and under. The programme provides children with the opportunity to learn, play and grow in a safe, nurturing, familiar home environment, while ensuring the level of care and education aligns with New Zealand standards and the Ministry of Education’s Early Childhood Curriculum (Te Whāriki).
Children aged 0–2 years are eligible for up to 30 hours of ECE subsidy per week ($1.00 per hour) and children aged 3–5 years can access up to 20 hours per week ($3.25 per hour). Families who already have a nanny or educator in place are welcome to join, provided all Ministry and Red Robin requirements are met, including our comprehensive 7-step safety checking process. (Which Red Robin can complete for you).

Minimum Hours / Commitment
To ensure consistency and full participation in the Little Robins programme, we require a minimum of 12 hours per week, ideally arranged as two full days of 6 hours each. This ensures children get the most out of the programme while supporting the continuity of care and educational outcomes.
Families must also commit to a minimum of 4 months enrolment with Little Robins
Civil Defence / Emergency and First Aid Kits
As part of our Little Robins programme, we provide every enrolled family with a fully equipped civil defence and first aid kit, designed to meet Ministry of Education requirements for home based early childhood education.
This is one of the ways we help create a safe, well prepared environment for your child, right in the comfort of your own home.
Having these resources readily available means your nanny or educator is equipped to respond quickly and effectively in the event of an emergency. Whether it is a minor injury or an unexpected situation, families can feel reassured knowing everything needed is on hand to support their child’s safety and wellbeing.
Each kit is carefully put together to ensure both everyday first aid needs and wider emergency preparedness are covered. By providing these kits, we aim to ensure every Little Robins home is not only nurturing and familiar, but also safe, prepared and supported at all times.
